Found my grandfather's old design books from 1978. Will post more photos up soon.

Finally, after months of doing nothing, I'm slowly settling into more of doing nothing.
Well, not really. I'm updating.
But I will be heading to DWR (Design Within Reach) tomorrow to pick up some office supplies. Hopefully I'll be able to show something for my efforts. Letter tray? Hand stapler? Maybe.

Currently reading and enjoying this man's work. I mean, what's not to love. Just look at those bushy eyebrows.

Bal Coat by Engineered Garments & The Short Mac by Steven Alan

I've been eyeing the first piece ever since Engineered Garments came out with their spring line, and the short mac is my ideal length for an overcoat (hits right above the knee). Both are incredibly versatile and I can see myself wearing them well into the heart of fall. But at a $365 and $465 price point, I might as well start saving now.
The Bal Coat can be found here at Odin, New York
The Short Mac can be found online at Steven Alan's store here, or anyone of their Manhattan boutiques.
1930's Cyclo-Cross
19 March 2009

Remember when bikes didn't have brakes, and no one wore a helmet?
Apparently there was a time when you didn't have a choice. A few months ago I stumbled across these photos of prewar cyclo-cross (think bushwhacking, but with bikes).
Steep hills, high altitudes, and brutal weather. If you like your races tough and murderous, then these photos are perfect.
